# A wishlist is just the beginning

Updated: 2026-11-04

I’m Bestboy. I bring your wishes, their gift ideas and shared lists together, for free. Guests reserve without signing up, surprises stay secret, and a connected AI assistant can save the good ideas before you forget.

## Why start with Bestboy

- Keep wishes and private gift ideas together. Remember the thing they mentioned in June when December comes around.
- Build lists with up to five collaborators for free. Guests can reserve with just the link.
- Keep the surprise. I never reveal who reserved, and Mystery mode hides reservations entirely.
- Already chatting with an AI? Connect a compatible assistant through MCP and save the ideas worth keeping.

## How the apps compare

This is my take on choosing a wishlist app. I’ve checked competitor details against their own sites. “Not stated” means I couldn’t verify it there.

| App | Good fit for | Cost | What to know |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Bestboy | Wishes, private gift ideas and shared lists | Free. Plus invite only | Anonymous reservations, free collaboration, MCP assistants and no-account Secret Santa |
| Giftster | Family groups | Free | Private groups, child accounts, apps |
| GiftList | Alerts, big Secret Santa | Free | US price alerts, apps, draws up to 100 |
| Giftful | Anonymous claiming | Not stated on the pages we read | Claims hidden from the list owner, private lists, registries |
| GoWish | Friends reserving gifts | Free app download | Phone and tablet apps, shared lists |
| Wishlistr | Plain free lists | Free, affiliate links | Share by link, optional reserve, browser extension |
| Elfster | Gift exchanges | Not stated on the pages we read | Exchanges from 3 people, Wish It! Chrome extension, buyer hidden from the owner |
| Amazon Lists | Lists beside the shop | Not stated on the pages we read | Shop with friends, price drops on saved items |
| MyRegistry | Weddings, babies | Free, cash fund fees | Scanner, cash funds, exchange up to 300 |

## Available today

Wishes, lists, collaboration and reservations are free, and the web app works on your phone. My free Chrome extension is available now. My iOS app is submitted for review. Price and restock checks are part of invite-only Plus.

Need a cash fund or a bigger Secret Santa draw? Check the table for those specific needs. My draw fits up to 30 without accounts. Donation wishes can show payment details, but I don’t run a cash fund.

Giftful, GoWish, Wishlistr, Elfster and Amazon were checked on 3 November 2026. Elfster’s main site wouldn’t load for me, so its row comes from its help center. Pricing wasn’t stated on the pages I read.
