A nudge when you want one. A surprise when you don’t.
I keep the useful nudges in Psst!: upcoming birthdays and list dates, gifts you’ve reserved and still need to buy, and activity on your lists. Consider me the little tap on your shoulder before the big day.
Open Settings → Notifications. You can choose in-app alerts and emails separately:
When reservation alerts are enabled, I can let you know that a wish has been reserved. The reservation stays anonymous: I don’t show you who’s buying it.
Open Settings → Notifications and switch on Mystery mode. I’ll stop handing you clues about which gift is on its way:
Your loved ones can still reserve gifts anonymously. You get to open the present instead of opening a spoiler. This doesn’t erase alerts or emails you’ve already received.
Switch Mystery mode off in Settings → Notifications. If you want reservation alerts again, turn Wish is reserved back on under In-app: get notified when, Email me when, or both. Those switches stay off until you choose them again.
Mystery mode affects reservations. Your other notification choices are yours to keep.
No. Reservations are anonymous either way. Mystery mode keeps which wish was reserved a surprise for you, too.
Yes. Reservations work as usual, and I still prevent someone else from reserving the same gift. I hide the clues from you, not the reservation from the system.
No. It stops new reservation alerts and emails. Anything you’ve already received remains.
Turning Mystery mode on switches reservation alerts off. After turning it off, enable Wish is reserved again in Notifications settings for in-app alerts, emails, or both.
